Foreign buyer traffic continues to be a driving factor as well as an improving economy and increased confidence in the real estate market. According to a report released by DataQuick, the sale of million plus homes in California has risen to the highest level in 6 years with 39,175 homes sold for a million and up in 2013. "Statewide, 840 homes sold for more than $5 million last year, an all-time high and up 20.3 percent from the previous high of 698 in 2012" (DQNEWS).
