Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Eron Johnson’s Architectural Antique Showroom, attendees will wine and dine amidst a backdrop of stone statuary from European ruins, and carved mahogany rooms from Russian palaces.

1351189554Guests can expect a light buffet supper from Venice Ristorante & Wine Bar, silent auction, live entertainment from Foxfield Four, and an extravagant wine tasting courtesy of Grapes Wine Market.

For the past seven years, proprietor of Grapes Wine Market, Tom Curcio, has generously donated all the wine for the tasting portion of the event, which will consist of a number of unique red and white varietals.

In addition, the Denver Ballet Guild is currently accepting donations for a collaborative auction item “Cave à vin” – or wine cellar in French, where bottles will be collected and auctioned as a whole. Tickets to the annual fundraiser must be purchased by October 29, 2012, at $75 per person or $150 per couple, which includes complimentary valet parking.

“A Taste for Dance is so much more than the average wine tasting gala or auction. It is the heartbeat of the Ballet Guild,“ say Elaine Swomley and Michaela Kolberg, co-chairs of the event. “Our competitions and scholarships provide young dancers the opportunity to continue dance education and pursue careers, and we support professional companies in staging new and innovative ballets for our great city. Plus each year, the Denver Ballet Guild takes 10,000 school children to a professional dance performance, often the first they have seen. This year’s fundraising event truly offers a memorable experience in exchange for a small donation that will greatly impact our performing arts community.”

1351189599Proceeds directly benefit the Denver Ballet Guild’s Dance education, training, and scholarship programs, as well as bring groundbreaking performances to the city of Denver. Since 1979, the Denver Ballet Guild’s all-volunteer 600-member organization has been a cultural force in Denver, pursuing its mission to support dance as a performing art.
