Strategic Changes for Zephyr Real Estate

San Francisco, CA – September 30, 2009 – Zephyr Real Estate announced today that it intends to relocate its current South of Market sales office. The company will be searching for a new space that is more in keeping with its 'neighborhood center' approach to office operations. The lease for their current location at 318 Brannan Street will expire at the end of the year and they have elected not to renew while they search for a replacement. Zephyr was the first major real estate company to venture into the South of Market area and remains committed to serving the Soma/South Beach housing market.

Since the Zephyr office opened in 1998 the neighborhood has gone through significant changes. The dot-com bubble of the late 90s brought in a flurry of technology businesses. With these new operations came creative homebuyers interested in the live/work spaces and loft properties that were noticeably replacing industrial space. The opening of what is now AT&T Park in 2000 (previously known as SBC Park, and before that Pac Bell Park) brought new restaurants, bars, clubs and a myriad of support businesses. More recently, the neighborhood has seen a tremendous boom in construction of high-rise homes, future corporate headquarters and the development of the UCSF eastern expansion.

“The new Soma/South Beach/Mission Bay communities will, of course, continue to be a major focus for the company,” said Randall Kostick, Zephyr's Chief Operating Officer. “As difficult as it is to walk away from a location that we have operated for more than twelve years, we are excited at the prospect of finding the new location that will be more consistent with our 'neighborhood philosophy' and that will offer more convenient access for agents and clients.” Until a new location is secured, Zephyr's Brannan Street agents will relocate to one of the company's six other neighborhood offices in San Francisco.
