LAKE FOREST, IL – According to MRED MLS*, 75 single family homes went under contract in Lake Forest, Illinois in June 2020, representing a record since they began tracking the information in their InfoSparks report in January 2008. The June 2019 number of single-family homes under contract was 29. The June 2020 Under Contract figure also surpassed the previous single month high of 55 contracts in May 2013, according to the same report.
Closed sales of all property types in Lake Forest showed an increase through the first half of 2020 compared to the first half of 2019. Lake Forest had 187 closed sales from 1/1/20 – 6/30/20 versus 183 during the same period in 2019 according to MRED, despite the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Leading the Lake Forest real estate market with 24.8% of the market share, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago represented 51 of the 187 closed sales from January 1, 2020 through June 30, 2020.
