Napa Valley Wine Auction

Between 1981-2004, Auction Napa Valley contributed more than a million dollars to local organizations, becoming one of the most impressive and influential wine charity fundraisers in the world by staying true to its original mission--to utilize the reputation of Napa Valley wines to enhance the well-being of the community. In honor of the 25th anniversary of the Auction, all previous event chairs (23 families in all) returned to make Auction Napa Valley 25 the most memorable event to date.

Silverado Trail Wineries Association

The Silverado Trail Wineries Association (est. 1989) is a group of more than 35 wineries along the historic Silverado Trail, which runs along the tranquil and scenic eastside of the world-famous wine region, Napa Valley. STWA member wineries consist of both large and small producers, all offering wines of the highest caliber and acclaim, as well as unsurpassed hospitality. Visitors are welcome year-round as most have tasting rooms open to the public, while some are by appointment.

The Hess Collection

The Hess Collection of paintings and sculptures by contemporary European and American artists represents a small portion of the artwork acquired over the past 30 years by winery founder Donald Hess. Vinters Club

Neighborhoods

Yountville

Nestled in the Heart of the Napa Valley, on the eastern foot of the Mayacamas Mountains, Yountville enjoys a small-town lifestyle and the sophisticated ambience of premium wines, many fine hotels and inns, spas, theaters, museums and a nine-hole public golf course, as well as an epicurean's delight of restaurants. Napa Valley is located approximately 25 miles east of Highway 101 and six miles west of Highway I-80 in the northern San Francisco Bay Area. Yountville is situated in the middle of Napa Valley along State Route 29. Convenient to the Bay Area, it is easily visited for a weekend or longer. The "special place" quality of Yountville makes business visitors want to come back for a more leisurely stay and leisure visitors want to return repeatedly.

St. Helena

St. Helena is a vibrant town in the middle of one of the most charming spots in the world, the Napa Valley. Calistoga

The City of Calistoga is located 80 miles North of San Francisco in the scenic Napa Valley. It is found at the top of the Napa Valley, at the foot of Mt. St. Helena, which rises 4,500 feet above the city. Calistoga, population 5,000, is a popular destination for visitors to Wine Country. Calistoga is best known for its geothermal hot springs and mineral water and is home to California's Old Faithful Geyser. It is also the home of the Napa County Fairgrounds. Calistoga has maintained its small-town atmosphere while still being able to accommodate many tourist each year.

Meadowood Resort

Preserves and Parks

Di Rosa Preserve

The di Rosa Preserve is one of the largest regional art collections in the country. The Preserve occupies 53 acres, including a 35-acre lake and four gallery buildings and showcases over 2,000 works by more than 800 Bay Area artists.

Robert Louis Stevenson State Park

Robert Louis Stevenson State Park is the place where the famous author of Treasure Island and Kidnapped spent his honeymoon in 1880. Although nothing remains of Stevenson's cabin, the site is identified on the trail to the summit. The area features rough terrain, with evergreen forests in the canyons on north-facing slopes and chaparral on the south-facing slopes. There is a five-mile hike to the top of Mt. St.Helena from which one can see much of the Bay Area. On good days the top of Mt. Shasta can be seen, 192 miles in the distance.

Bothe-Napa Valley State Park

Located in the heart of the beautiful Napa Valley wine country, the Park offers camping, picnicking, swimming, and hiking trails that go through stands of coastal redwoods as well as forests of Douglas-fir, tanoak, and madrone. Daytime visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll in Ritchey Canyon on the Redwood Trail to view the delicate ferns and listen to the water splashing down the rocky creekbed. Bring your wine and cheese and picnic under the towering Douglas Firs. On hot summer days, grab a swimsuit and towel and come enjoy a dip in the park's swimming pool open on weekends, beginning on Memorial Day weekend through mid-June, then daily through Labor Day, from 12- 6 p.m. There is an additional fee for the use of the swimming pool, to be paid at the park entrance.Or perhaps consider taking a horseback ride during the spring, summer, or fall. Reservations for horseback rides can be made through Triple Creek Horse Outfit by calling (707) 933-1600.The large picnic grounds are located in the day use area, and are even available for group events and getaways. A covered area for group use contains picnic tables, a sink and an electrical outlet with a horseshoe pit and wheelchair-accessible restroom nearby. Whether you visit the back country on a several hour hike or take a mere stroll along the creekbed, you will enjoy a close-up look at all the natural beauty that the park has to offer. Lyman Park- St. Helena

Located on the 1300 block of Main St. between Pine and Adams Streets. The one acre park consist of individual picnic tables, grassy areas, a children's play area and historic gazebo. The gazebo may be rented for weddings, birthday parties etc. Lyman Park is host to the Summer Band Concerts on Thursday evenings during the months of July and Aug. This is a passive park and no active game playing is allowed.

Crane Park-St. Helena

Located on Crane Ave. 500 ft south of the intersection of Crane Ave. and Grayson Ave. The 10 acre park consist of 6 lighted tennis courts, 4 lighted bocce ball courts, 2 Little League baseball fields, horse shoe pits, children's play ground and individual and group picnic areas and two restrooms. Group picnic areas must be reserved during peak use months of April through October. Crane Park is home of the St. Helena Farmers Market which is open from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. every Friday May through October.

Theaters

Napa Valley Symphony

The Napa Valley Symphony, the oldest and largest non-profit performing arts institution in California Napa Valley, is dedicated to maintaining and operating a fully-professional symphony orchestra with the objective of enhancing the quality of life throughout Napa County. The tradition of live instrumental music is supported through regularly scheduled concerts of both traditional classical music and pops programs, with every concert featuring world class guest soloists. The Association's educational and community service offerings include programs for young children, a youth orchestra for aspiring student musicians, and educational programs for adults.

Napa Repertory Theater

The Napa Valley Repertory Theatre Company, the Napa Valley's only year-round professional theatre, is a collaboration between an ensemble of theatre artists and their community. Our core staff, which numbers ten individuals, represent more than a century and a half of professional theatre experience. The Napa Valley Repertory Theatre company currently performs four shows per season offered as single ticket events or as a subscription.

Lincoln Theater Performing Arts Cente

The renovated Lincoln Theater now has a seating capacity of 1,200, the largest in the valley. It is the home of the Napa Valley Symphony and many other events.

Napa Valley Shakespeare Festival

The Napa Valley Shakespeare Festival presents Shakespeare under the stars at the Napa Mill, 500 Main Street in Old Town Napa during the months of July and August with an extended season of family entertainment in the Autumn. Picknicking and wine are optional enhancements. The festival also offers youth and adult theatre education classes through Willpower and Young Actors Theatre programs and provides theatre training to at-risk youth through the Napa Valley program.
