Summer weather was late in the Pacific Northwest Coast this year. We were calling Spring & early Summer names like Mayvember, Juneuary, Julyuary...finally, August delivered on the sun and the warmer temperatures! Sometimes, September and October are warm & sunny, too...it gets darker earlier, though, as the sun drops lower in the sky. Still lots to do and see & enjoy, as we drift from late August into early September...out for lunch or dinner? Patio dining at Harbour House Hotel, at Calvin's Bistro, at Salt Spring Inn, at Moby's, at Bocados Bistro, at Auntie Pesto's, at Treehouse Cafe, at Seaside Kitchen, at Rock Salt Cafe...enjoy! Watch the floatplanes chortle in & out the Harbour...enjoy coffee or tea al fresco at Cafe Talia, at TJ Beans, at Penny's (formerly Jana's Bakeshop), at Rendezvous Cafe.... Amble through the galleries (ArtSpring, Steffich Fine Art, Gallery 8, Salt Spring Gallery of Fine Art, ArtCraft, Pegasus Gallery of Canadian Art, Starfish Gallery).... Kayak to Chocolate Beach, picnic at Ruckle Park, swim at Vesuvius Beach, hike at Mt Maxwell Park...so many alluring things to do & to enjoy, in this premier pristine area! Ah, summer-summer...it may be late, but it's beautifully welcome! Enjoy.
